Novuhair - Nature's Answer to Hair Loss

Me and my friend recently attended the launch of Novuhair's newest and improved products and we learned a lot about the brand. First off, I was surprised to learn that Novuhair is actually a Filipino brand. All this time I thought this was a foreign brand.

 I have always been interested in local brands that provide customers with the benefits of organic products and another surprise for me was that Novuhair is not only organic, it also made use of local materials for the ingredients in its products such as malunggay, garlic, ginger, aloe vera and of course, virgin coconut oil.

The event started with dinner served to the guests and bloggers like me who we're invited to learn more about Novuhair. After dinner, Dr. Rica Mallari, an expert on diseases of the hair and scalp, explained to us the reasons and treatments currently available for hair loss.

Hair loss problems can be hereditary and can also be caused by poor diet and weight loss, medicines taken, as well as other stressors. And while hair loss may seem a petty issue, it is actually an intimate part of the perception of self and is not only a cosmetic issue but a psychological and medical issue as well. The treatments for this issue range from topical solutions to hair transplant surgery. That last bit sounded like getting laser eye surgery to me.

 I have seen Fanny Serrano in several Novuhair ads and I even buy some of his cosmetic products but seeing him in person was still a treat.

Pictures can only capture so much and may not even provide a clue to an individual's personality. He always looked polished and professional in his pictures but in person, he was not only polished, he was also very animated when he talks and you can feel the sincerity in his voice as he tells his story.

Like I mentioned before, hair loss seems to be a petty issue, but for the common person, it strongly affects one's self image and self-esteem. So for a celebrity like Fanny Serrano, it is a serious problem indeed.More than the scientific evidence, a personal story is still the best testimony to the effectiveness of any product or method and he did not only tell us about the effectiveness of Novuhair that night, he made us feel how it affected his life as well.

 Fanny Serrano has been trying to find the solution to falling hair since the issue started when he was 40. As an icon in the industry, this issue of baldness became a major insecurity. It also inconvenienced him as it took him almost an hour to fix his hair and cover up his baldness with hair products, hats, bandannas and he even resorted to wiglets, which he has adorably nicknamed as "toppers" which were also very expensive. He says he bought 3 of those so that if he loses one, he still has 2 more to use as back-up. This made us laugh but it was surely no laughing matter for him back then.

The shampoo prepares your scalp for the application of the other products and to enhance their effectiveness. I took a sniff of this in the bottle and it has the familiar and refreshing scent of aloe and peppermint. Just like Gwen, you'll feel healthier already just by the smell of this product.

Novuhair Herbal Conditioner
After the shampoo, the conditioner works to moisturize and condition the hair to give it a shinier look and to make it more manageable. This one also had a peppermint smell to it but it was not as strong as in the shampoo. It also has the pleasant smell of rosemary and sweet almond oil in its ingredients which makes this a pleasant, soothing next step after the minty shampoo.

The topical lotion is applied twice a day to moisturize the scalp and strengthen hair follicles to stop hair loss and premature greying. This had a stronger minty smell and is also the most herbal-smelling of the three since it contains a lot of herbal extracts as well.

Now that I've learned that this product is effective and a local brand, I am quite proud about it. Fanny Serrano also tells us that he is proud that this is a Filipino product made available to Filipinos but is so effective, it is also a world-class product.

Seeing Fanny Serrano and Gwen Ruais in person has also shown me that indeed, hair loss is not a problem for them anymore, especially for Fanny Serrano. For his age, he does not have a single strand of grey hair and it was obvious he didn't have a wig with the way he finger-combed his hair to show us it was his hair indeed.
