Exploring Mines View Park at Baguio with Kala and Karin

The day after visiting The Strawberry Farm, we were off to an early start to visit Mine's View Park. It had been rainy the day before so we were hoping that the fog would lift up so we could see a clear view and take good pictures. Fortunately, there was only a slight drizzle when we traveled from the hotel.

We got there before 8AM and we thought that we would have to wait until after 8AM to get inside the park but we were told that we could already go inside. This made us quite happy as we could explore the place without any other visitors around.

Of course, the first thing to do was for our friends to take turns posing by the entrance to the park.

Mine's View Park is a gardener's dream where you can buy colorful flowers, succulents as well as herbs. If we weren't on tour, we would have hoarded a lot of plants to take home back to Manila.

Daisy is one of the St. Bernard's who visitors can take pictures with for Php50 per picture.

After admiring the flowers and posing with the Daisy, we took the short climb up a platform where we could appreciate the view. Since there were no other visitors so early in the morning, we had the place all to ourselves. The fog had lifted somewhat so we also enjoyed an unobstructed view of the mine.

The viewing deck is the highest point in the park and offers the best view of the green mountains that embrace Baguio. For a clearer view, you can also rent binoculars from some of the vendors in the park.

As our experience proves, it is best to visit the park early in the morning to avoid the crowds. We actually enjoyed a peaceful moment just admiring and appreciating the view and soaking in the sunshine. The awesome view reminds us how beautiful nature is and it was a relaxing experience away from the city traffic we experienced the day before.

We turned our eyes reluctantly from the magnificent view to head to our next destination in this charming city.
