Leo Meneses: Lover of Nature, Art and Life

There are many chances of meeting an actor or singer when you live in the city near the biggest media networks. There are lesser chances of meeting a painter or a musician as you go about your daily commute to work. I have always admired people in the fine arts and getting the chance to meet one was a chance I could not pass over.

The artist in his modest work space.

Mr. Leo Meneses was the artist we were going to meet with in his hometown of Pililla, Rizal. I've always wanted to have a conversation with an artist and learn about what inspired them to pursue their creative side, why they do what they do and many other questions that only frustrated artists like me can relate to.

Kingsman: The Unlikely Neighborhood Hero

I love action movies! Not the more gory ones but those with stunts that look amazing and maybe even impossible. So of course, I also love watching spy movies but I can't say I love all of them. There are few that stand out in my memory and the most recent one is Kingsman: The Secret Service.

This is quite a late post for a movie that has been in the theaters for some time now. However, I still cannot wipe the smile that involuntarily appears on my face whenever I think of this film. So before someone accuses me of going crazy, let me pour out my reasons here.

SiningSaysay - Visual Guide to Philippine History

"A picture paints a thousand words" so goes the saying and one Saturday morning, I saw how pictures, paintings in particular, do just that for Philippine history.

Filipino Responses to Spanish Colonization by Vincent Paolo S. De Pio

The SiningSaysay: Philippine History in Art exhibit opened last Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Gateway Gallery in Cubao, Quezon City. As an exhibit dedicated solely to works of art depicting a nation's history, it is the first of its kind in the country.

Adele Sets Fire to The Rain

One of my favorite songs to hum to these days is Rolling in The Deep by Adele. Because the song sounded so good, I was curious to hear more songs from this singer. I didn't know she had a lot of popular songs already. I'm not much of a music person so I was amazed that almost all her songs that I listened too were also good.

Here's one that I loved and one of the reasons I like it was because at that time, we we're experiencing stormy weather and I couldn't go out.

Bonsai Sighting

A friend and I meet up one weekend to try out some mineral make-up. I had recommended a brand to her and she wanted to try it out. She's still trying it out for now, so I'll post more on that as soon as I have updates from her.

What I want to show are the bonsais we saw at SM North EDSA. We went there for some snacks after buying some MMU (mineral make-up) and when we got there, all these bonsais were on display.
