New Food Treats in Carnivale, Taguig

A couple of weeks ago, me and a friend were invited to the launch of Carnivale, the latest food market venue at McKinley Hill, Taguig. After some difficult navigation hazards to get there, we finally walked the last few meters to The Venice Piazza Mall inside McKinley Hill where we found the food market abuzz with a lot of people.

A lot of us bloggers we're late getting there but we we're still able to take pictures of the food and get to taste the food thanks to the generous Ian who attended to all of us bloggers. I was also glad to get to know new bloggers and see familiar faces among those who attended.

Natural Sore Throat Remedy: Ilog Maria Honey Propolis Throat Spray

It's the "brrrr" months and cough and colds are common especially since our weather recently has been driving us crazy with chilly mornings and warm afternoons or sunny mornings and rainy afternoons.

The embarrassment of having to excuse yourself to indulge in a coughing fit or to not have time to excuse yourself at all, is just as inconvenient as the coughing fit itself. Add to that the scratchy throat and watery eyes as evidence of your "barking" episode and people suddenly move their distance when communicating with you.

Veggie Pancakes and Tortilla Wraps for Lunch

Sometimes I grow tired of eating rice and I want something as filling but not rice. The same feeling struck me one time at home when preparations for lunch time was already beginning. I didn't want to eat rice again because I'm sure I'll be eating it again for dinner. So, I took a quick survey of my makeshift pantry and checked out possible alternatives. I was happy to have found one, two in fact, from the previous dinner's leftovers.

My vegan lunch!

I had some mock meat made of beans and some tortilla wraps. I also had some carrots and potatoes and some wholewheat flour. So I turned my beans into filling for my tortillas adding just a dollop of mustard when I reheated it to amp up the flavor. I've also tried this with tomato ketchup and with hot sauce so choose the level of kick you like.

Homey Ambiance and Taste @ Lola Idang's, Kamuning

We're experimenting on a new work schedule, early morning and then done by 12 noon. The freedom to go anywhere after lunch was a good perk, but the lack of sleep made us too tired to do anything else but get lunch and then get a ride home.

The cozy setup by the door.

However, since we weren't pressed for time to get back to work, we had the advantage of looking for a place to go to lunch at our leisure.

It was a rainy day when we decided to get a taste of some comfort food at Lola Idang's in Kamuning.

Christmas Lights!

Christmas lights are the first to go up when decorating for the holidays. The sight of twinkling lights always make me feel warm inside, especially when coupled with Christmas songs as background.

Twinkle, twinkle Christmas lights!

This is what we got treated too at Trinoma just recently. I got an invitation to the opening of this event last November 9, but unfortunately, I had problems with my email and couldn't respond to the invite at the time.

Feeling the Christmas Thrill!

It's the 2nd "ber" month on the calendar, the mornings are chilly but without too much rain throughout the day, yey! I can definitely feel that Christmas is just around the corner and the thought excites me. It excites me even more than my birthday!

It's definitely the BRRRRR months!

Fun and Breezy Ambiance + Good Food at Mang Inato, Palawan

My friend and me recently went on a business trip to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Since it was work-related, we really didn't have much time, or the budget, to go around and explore the popular tourist sites. But we did get a chance to check out some not-so-known food places that was a good break from the hotel food and fast food items we've been gobbling up for 3 weeks. (How we survived that? Well we had to, but that's another story.)

The interesting entrance to Mang Inato.

It was our last day at Palawan and we thought we'd go home with absolutely no new food places to enjoy in this place far from home. Our chattiness has served us lots of times in the past and it got us some answers this time too.

Cocina Centrale - New Food Haven in Marquee Mall, Pampanga

Food tripping is a lot of fun especially when you can make it an excuse to visit new places outside of your locality. That's why the recent launch of Cocina Centrale at the Marquee Mall in Pampanga was a welcome treat for the weekend.

The Cheese Steak Shop Food Truck

Novuhair - Nature's Answer to Hair Loss

Me and my friend recently attended the launch of Novuhair's newest and improved products and we learned a lot about the brand. First off, I was surprised to learn that Novuhair is actually a Filipino brand. All this time I thought this was a foreign brand.

Novuhair Ad with the new 3-in-1 set and endorsers

I have always been interested in local brands that provide customers with the benefits of organic products and another surprise for me was that Novuhair is not only organic, it also made use of local materials for the ingredients in its products such as malunggaygarlic, ginger, aloe vera and of course, virgin coconut oil.

Levante Food Market @ Eastwood City Walk - Part 3

If you want to put a twist to your home cooked meals, then Levante also has vendors who offers new food experiences that you and your family can enjoy at home. Here are just some of them.

Juana Bowl Salmon and Rib Eye Steak

Juana Bowl offers US Rib Eye Steak and Norwegian Pink Salmon among others. These would definitely be eye-catching once on the table.

Levante Food Market @ Eastwood City Walk - Part 2

Still on the Levante Food Market, more food treats ahead. This time we're going to explore the vendors who offer us main dishes in different varieties.

Maria's Ilocos Empanada

But first off, we talked to Hazel, the owner of Maria's Ilocos Empanada. They offer one of my grandmother's favorite kitchen staple, the Sukang Iloko as well as other Ilocano treats like Sweet Potato Chips.

Levante Food Market @ Eastwood City Walk - Part 1

Food tripping is always on our itinerary these days so we couldn't miss the launch of Levante, the food market at Eastwood City Walk, Libis, Quezon City last Friday.

L-R: Boxes and Dig Deep Cups from Twisted Desserts

Since it's my first event to attend as an official blogger, me and my friend came early to check out the activities. I guess we were too early because there were only a few people milling around the food stalls and not many vendors had started cooking away yet. The upside to all this was, we had more time to take pictures so snap away we did!

Enjoying a Tea Party @ Super Duck Modern Tea

We recently had a taste of a milk tea place that was new to us. We always like trying out something new so an invitation from a friend to this milk tea place was a welcome opportunity.

Wintermelon Kumquat Tea and Orange Grapefruit Tea

The place was named Super Duck Modern Tea and we learned from the owner that this was a franchise from a popular chain in Taiwan. All their ingredients are from there too so you can be assured that everything tastes authentic. However, the test is on the tea and so we we're given different tea's to intrigue our palates.

Delicious Discoveries in Naga

We went to a lot of places in Naga. We visited most of the churches and went mountain climbing to visit a refreshing waterfall. We even watched a movie there for only P135.00 pesos! So we're definitely going back and part of the reason is to taste some local delicacies.

But for now, let me tell you and show you some of the other delicious gems we tasted there.

Big Treats in Biggs, Naga

Traveling to new places and tasting different delicacies is a dream past time of mine and I recently got to indulge in one such trip in Naga. Because we we're set on sightseeing more than the eating, we weren't able to sample the local food but we did get a taste of something new.

If we have Jollibee and McDonald's as fastfood staples here in Manila, in Naga, they have Bigg's Diner and you can find it in almost every corner of the city. I think it also has branches in other places in Bicol. So it was this place that we went to when we needed a bite and it's open 24 hours too.

Healthy Eating on a Budget @ Impressca

Going to the mall can be tiring even if you're just window shopping. So it becomes automatic to look for food once you feel the hunger pangs or you feel bored after looking at all the stuff you wish you could buy but can't at the the moment. At this point, one usually opts for fast food because, well, it's fast. But I'm glad to report that there are healthy alternatives making themselves available for the foodie who wants to eat healthy.

Since you've been doing some exercise walking around the mall anyway, why not walk your way to healthy food as well. I found one such place at The Block in SM North called Impressca at the 4th level.

Korean Foodie Treats @ Cubao Food Market

Hello blogosphere!

I'ts been so long since I posted - a year has passed by already (gasp!). The holidays kept me busy organizing stuff around the house and I'm glad to report that we're about 80% complete. So aside from organizing little by little, my new motto at home is "Out with the old, in with the new."

To fulfill this new guideline for stuff we keep around the house, I've purged some stuff and given some of them away. Some of them had sentimental value but then the memories would always be with me anyway so the physical stuff can go.

Anyway, on to the topic of this post.
